Mark D. Werkheiser, 46, of State College, died Thursday, November 9, 2017, at home.
Born June 11, 1971, in West Chester, he was the son of George F. and Evelyn M. Bartlett Werkheiser. He was married to Amber Gladfelter Krieg.
In addition to his parents and wife, Amber, Mark is survived by his daughter, Sydney A. Werkheiser, of Montoursville; step-children, Caleb A. Krieg of State College and Chaya R. Krieg of Portland, OR; two brothers, Glenn Werkheiser and his wife, Diane, of West Chester, and Robert Werkheiser and his wife, Denise, of Downingtown; and his nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
Mark graduated from West Chester East High School, in 1990, and attended West Chester University. He was a massage therapist.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved mountain biking, kayaking, cross country skiing, fly fishing, and hiking with his beloved dog, Luna.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on December 9, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, with Jackie Hook officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a trust for Sydney Werkheiser at M&T Bank, 405 River Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701, in care of Susannah J. Howard. Checks may be made out to Susannah J. Howard.
