Obituary of Marjorie C. Parks

Marjorie C. Parks, 94, of Lemont, died May 15, 2015 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born March 8, 1921 in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Harold D. and Sara Spencer Chambers. She married L. Raymond Parks Jr, MD, on June 26, 1943 who preceded her in death on February 8, 2009. She is survived by a son, Harold Raymond Parks and his wife, Susan, of Philomath, Oregon, three grandchildren, Kathryn, Paul and David Parks and four great grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Mark and Alexis Parks. Marge was a 1939 graduate of Avon Grove High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Penn State, graduating in December 1942. She was a member of the State College Friends Meeting. She also was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, U.S. Power Squadron, and was actively concerned with conservation issues. She was an active and loving grandmother. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Clear Water Conservancy, 2555 N. Atherton St., State College, PA 16803. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
