Obituary of Ronald W. Neidigh

Ronald William "Pappy" Neidigh, 83, of Bellefonte, died June 22, 2016 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, with his family by his side. Born September 5, 1932, in State College, he was the son of the late William Sidney and Sarah Catherine Neidigh. On March 27, 1955, he married N. Dawn Wallace who preceded him in death on October 24, 2013. He graduated from State College Area High School in 1951. Ron was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in September 1952. He was a Hardware Configuration Manager for Raytheon Corporation until retiring in 1992. He loved hunting, shooting at the rifle range, playing pinochle & Texas Hold'em, "walking" his dog Lady while riding his scooter, watching Penn State football, and most of all spending time with his family and friends Surviving him are his children: Laurie Stover(Joe) of Pleasant Gap. Randy of Bellefonte, Scott of State College, Kirk(Cindy) of Boalsburg and Lisa of Bellefonte. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Jeremy Stover (Christina),Tara Neidigh, Seth Neidigh, Andy Reid and Jordan Aichholz, and 3 great grandchildren, Josiah Stover, Kaleb Stover and Naomi Stover. Also surviving him are his brother: James S. Neidigh(Jean) of State College, a brother-in-law Frank Bamer and sister-in law, Connie Bamer of State College, and sister-in-law, Nancy Wallace of Burke, Virginia, and brother-in-law, Robert Engel of New York and over a dozen nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed spending time with. In addition to his parent's and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Engel, a granddaughter, Jessica Stover, 2 brother in-laws, Frank Wallace and Christ Wallace and a sister-in-law, Flo Wallace. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Faith United Church of Christ, 300 E College Ave, State College, with the Reverend Dr. Monica Dawkins-Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to: The Bob Perks Cancer Fund, P.O. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Mount Nittany Medical Center for taking such wonderful care of their father. They'd also like to thank Home Nursing Agency for taking exceptional care of their father while he was home in between hospital visits.
