Obituary of Lois E. Cramer

Lois Etta Cramer, 93, of State College, died August 17, 2016, at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. She was born Lois Etta Strassner on October 29, 1922 in Muncy, and was the daughter of the late Frederick Wilhelm Strassner and Florence Jane Nees Strassner of White Deer. On September 16, 1939 she married Robert Keller Cramer of State College, who preceded her in death on April 28, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Llewellyn Strassner of Kelly's Crossroads, a sister, Bernice Margaret Strassner Rhule Young of Boalsburg and a daughter, Carol June Rockey of Centre Hall. Lois is survived by a sister, Jean Audrey Strassner Persun of Montgomery; seven children, Patricia Jena (husband, Eugene) of Stanley, North Carolina; Linda Ackley (husband, Richard) of Centre Hall; Robert Kent Cramer (wife, Sherry) of Pennsylvania Furnace; Naomi McNulty of State College; Jan Cramer (wife, Candy) of Huntingdon; Gary Cramer (wife, Kathy) of Port Matilda and Yvonne Coll (husband, John) of Pleasant Gap. Lois is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a member and leader of the Girl Scouts, a 4-H leader, a member of the State College Woman's Club, a member of Our Lady Rebekahs where she was Noble Grand in 1951 until her death. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #5825 Women's Auxiliary in Pine Grove Mills; the American Legion Post 245, Pine Hall, where she was President for 9 years; she was an officer for many years since 1960 in the United Commercial Travelers, and President for years of the Pine Grove Mills Senior Citizens group. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren as well as hunting and fishing. Family and friends will be received for a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church, 150 W Pine Grove Road, Pine Grove Mills, with the Reverend Carl Campbell officiating, with a luncheon to follow at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin St #206, State College, PA 16803.
