Obituary of Rebecca Esther Cope

Rebecca Esther Cope, 52, of Morrisville, died Thursday, December 8, 2016, at home. Born February 3, 1964, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Joseph L. and Beverly Janet Lane Brozgal. She is survived by a son, Zachary A. Cope of Morrisville; two siblings, Steven Brozgal of Pittsburgh and Julie R. Knepp and her husband, Dennis of Tyrone; a Brother-In Law, George Crighton of Framingham, MA; numerous nieces and nephews who adored her, and their children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Crighton and brother, Mark Brozgal. She was a graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh. Rebecca received a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Research Administration from the George Washington University. She received an Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Radiology from Tidewater Community College as a Summa Cum Laude. Rebecca was recently named the Imaging Research and Development Director of Robarts Clinical Research, based in Canada. In a memorial by this organization, they cited Becca's "indelible spirit, kind heart, and sense of humor." She had a wide-ranging career in Imaging Research, working with the reputable firms Image Analysis LTD and BioClinica Inc., both located in the Philadelphia area. Rebecca held professional certifications from PMI as a Project Management Professional, and from NIH, the Human Participation Protections Education certificate. She was a devoted and conscientious mother, and spent much of her time renovating her home and tending her gardens with her special needs son. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to The Treatment Advocacy Center, 200 North Glebe Road, Suite 801, Arlington, VA, 22203. This is an organization dedicated to eliminating barriers to the treatment of mental illness. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
