Obituary of Barbara D. Wilson

Barbara D. "Barb" Wilson, 72, of State College, died Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the Wynwood House, Boalsburg. Born October 11, 1944, in Birmingham, AL, she was the daughter of the late Thomas D. and Beatrice Meyers Dozier. She grew up in Fort Payne, Alabama. On October 18, 1976 she married Richard R. Wilson, who survives. Also surviving are two step-children, Brad H. Wilson and Dana Ann Wilson, both of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Tom Dozier and his wife, Wanda, of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew and Andrew; two nephews, Clint Dozier and his wife, Lynn and Michael Dozier and his wife, Kim; two great-nephews, Jacob and Wesley and two great-nieces, Ashlyn and MaKenna. She was a 1963 graduate of Fort Payne High School. She received a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics in 1967 from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Barb retired from Fox-Morris Associates as an Administrative Assistant. Prior to her employment there, she worked in sales and the insurance industry. She was a very active member of the Centre Community Church of Christ. Barb enjoyed playing tennis and was a member of the Penn State Tennis Club. She played the clarinet and the oboe in the Fort Payne High School band and the Lipscomb University Orchestra. Barb loved her dog Maggie and enjoyed dining out. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will be at 1pm, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the funeral home with Tom Dozier and Bob White officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Centre Community Church of Christ, C/O Bob White, 627 West Hamilton Ave., State College, PA 16801.
