Obituary of Betty L. Weaver

Betty L. Weaver, 80, of State College, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at Juniper Village at Brookline. Born January 3, 1937, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Charles Dean and Sally Mae Butler Houser. On December 26, 1956 in State College she married Marlin G. Weaver. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 children, Beth A. Byers and her husband, Chuck of Pine Grove Mills and Sharon K. Miller and her husband, Matt of Philipsburg; a sister, Lillian Boldin and her husband, Evon of Bellefonte; a sister-in-law, Martha Houser of Lock Haven; a brother-in-law, Terry Weaver and his wife, Diane of Coburn; four grandchildren, Lindsey Faussette and her husband, David of Boalsburg, Brandon Byers and his wife, Holly of Bellefonte, Justine Burns and her husband, Kody of Sandy Ridge, and Kendall Miller of Philipsburg, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Douglas Scott Weaver; a brother, Joseph Houser, and a grandson, Ryan Lucas. Betty graduated from State College High School in 1954. She graduated in 1957 from Altoona School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse on the maternity floor at Centre Community Hospital for forty years before retiring in 1997. Betty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Black Panther Camping club and a former member of the Houserville Women's Club. Betty enjoyed camping, reading, and spending time with her family. She always had a smile on her face. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College with the Reverend P. Stevens Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Houserville Cemetery.
