Obituary of Kathryn S. Kuhn

Kathryn Sarah Stover Kuhn, 100, of State College passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Kathryn was born in Philipsburg on November 10, 1916, the daughter of the late Howard F. and Agnes Rose Kelleher Stover. On November 30, 1935, she married James A. Kuhn in State College, PA. Immediate family are daughter Cecelia R. (Bill) Farraday of Reading, son, James P. (Hattie) Kuhn, daughter Vicky L. (Leon) Droll, son John H.(LaVeta) Kuhn, daughter Kathleen M.(Rob) Leon all of State College, and son Charles F.(Cindy) Kuhn of Roanoke, Virginia. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren: Kelly Moyer, Bobbie Long, Greg Moyer, Chris(Julie)Kuhn, Gary Kuhn, Tim (Tracy)Droll, Todd Droll, Scott(Robin) Droll, Steve Kuhn, Mike Kuhn, Lynn (Meghan)Leon, Robin (Kaan)Kuzu, and 5 great grandchildren: Lexie Long, Jamie Long, Ashley Kuhn, Eren Kuzu and Anna Kuzu. Kathryn was the family Matriarch and will be forever remembered for her dedication to raising her children and grandchildren. She was known for her kind, caring, and generous spirit. Humble and steadfast in what she believed was right. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed going to church. She spent 25 years in service providing day care for children. She loved tending to her garden and her cat Felix. She graced our lives for 100 years and will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, her sisters Anna Mae (Toot) Blake, Pauline Thomas, Maxine Dice, Dorothy Jean McTigue, Cecelia Davis, Geraldine Kline, and brothers Lee Stover and Howard Stover. There will be a private visitation at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
