Obituary of Karl Fuls

Karl M. Fuls, 62, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Friday, September 23, 2011, at his home. Born July 16, 1949, in McKeesport, he was a son of Dorothy Kocur Fuls of McKeesport and the late Karl R. Fuls. On Nov. 10, 1972, he married Deborah Saltsgiver, who survives. He is also survived by three children, Erik Benjamin Fuls and his wife, Barbara and their children, Benjamin, Sabrina and Ryan, of Bellefonte, Kristin Clemons and her husband, Marty, and their sons Brandon and Morgan, of Richmond, Va., and Erin Kimberly Johnson and her husband, Robert and their children Kenneth and Sierra, of Hazel Hurst; a brother Otto Kurt Fuls and Pegi Pavlik of Pittsburgh, and two sisters, Kathy Barnes and her husband, Dan and their children Matthew and Daniel, of Downingtown, and Alice Fuls of McKeesport. He was a 1967 graduate of McKeesport High School and attended Penn State in Civil Engineering. He was a professional land surveyor and a self-employed AUTOCAD instructor in civil engineering for engineering and architectural firms on the east coast and for Penn College. He was an avid Boy Scout and the leader of Troop 44 of Pine Grove Mills for 20 years. He loved canoeing, hiking, boating and camping. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America - Troop 44, c/o the Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 241, Pine Grove Mills, PA 16868, or to the Centre County Unit of the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801.
