Obituary of Judy Fetzer

Judy M. Fetzer, 67, of State College, passed Thursday, October 20, 2011. Born November 1, 1943, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Hazard May. On June 24, 1962, she married L. David Fetzer, who survives. She is survived by two children. Her daughter, Robin Homan and her husband, Wayne, of Pa Furnace, and their children, Rebecca, and Corporal Adam Homan of the United States Marine Corps and his wife, Domoniece. Her son, D. Michael Fetzer and his wife, Rachel, of Pleasant Gap, and their daughter Anika. Judy was anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandchild next May. Her family circle would never have been complete without her puppies, currently Zoey and Bubbles, miniature Maltese. Judy was preceded in death by her elder sister Ellen Whitehorne, of Front Royal, Virginia. Judy was a 1961 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. She obtained her Real Estate Sales license in 1976, and was employed by Kissinger, Leonard & Heim before creating Heritage Realty in 1987, where she excelled as a multi-million dollar producer. She was a highly respected Real Estate Broker for twenty four years of her career. In the past she had the position of President of Altrusa, as well as being on the Centre County Board of Realtors. She was a member of the Centre County and Pennsylvania Association of Realtors. She also spent her time volunteering with the Make A Wish Foundation. For 37 years, the Fetzer family has indulged in a shared passion for Penn State Football, attaining honorary coach status 21 years ago. They invited all they knew to experience the excitement for themselves at their weekly tailgates, and attended over 30 Bowl games. Judy's humor and her appreciation for the life she had been given made her a blessing to everyone lucky enough to have had the opportunity to know her. She was a touchstone for her family, a confidante for her friends, and an inspiration to all that she mentored. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Bardo officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to the United States Wounded Soldiers Foundation at 11700 Preston Rd. Ste 660, PMB 135, Dallas, TX 75230. Online condolences may be made at www.kochfuneralhome.com.
