Obituary of Estelle Carlin

Born in Pittsburgh, the child of Eastern European immigrants, Estelle was a born worker with bone deep generosity. She was a very social person who loved people and enjoyed working for many years as a teller at Mellon Bank. In her retirement, she traveled the world over with her husband, Edward. An expert knitter, she spent countless hours making sweaters, hats, mittens, and Christmas stockings for each member of her family. Also, a gifted flower arrangement artist, she was the recipient of many awards. She delighted in giving lavish presents, homemade sweets, and abundant praise to the many who loved her. She is survived by her husband, Edward, sons Fred (Robin Stevens) of State College and Barry (Beatrice) of Pittsburgh and numerous grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Gerry Harvey, and by her siblings Jim, Raymond, Louis, Jack, and Beatrice. Services are private, at the convenience of the family.
