Obituary of Alice Pickering

Alice McFeatters Pickering, of State College, died Friday, January 7, 2011, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She married Dr. M. Martin McFeatters, who died October 7, 1989. On May 10, 2008, she married Howard W. Pickering, who survives her. She is also survived by four sisters and one brother, and was predeceased by one brother and one sister. Alice was a Business Education teacher at State College Senior High School for many years. After retiring, she studied at Penn State and became a docent at the Palmer Museum of Art as well as a member of study groups with the University Women's Club. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and an active participant in the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the Floral and the Liturgy committees. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 10 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Monsignor David Lockard officiating Committal and burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, PA 16801.
