Happy 110th Anniversary Koch Funeral Home! Koch Funeral Home has been serving the Centre Region for a century plus a decade, and F. Glenn Fleming has been at the helm for 50 of those years! Starting in 1913 at the home of Harry Newton and Margaret Campbell Koch on the corner of South Burrowes Street and West College Avenue in downtown State College, Koch Funeral Home has grown and expanded into the wonderful facility we all recognize on South Atherton Street.

Over those 110 years, some things have changed in the funeral industry. The existence of funeral homes themselves signaled a societal change in moving viewings and funerals out of the home. Funeral processions are only rarely led by a horse-drawn carriages. Building individual coffins by hand is no longer the job of each funeral home. And funeral home corporations have acquired a number of family-owned businesses.

But what has not changed is Koch’s locally-owned and operated commitment to our community. From the start, the philosophy at Koch Funeral Home has been neighbor helping neighbor. Our dedicated staff, our state-of-the-art facilities, our technology options to enhance services, and our celebrant and end-of-life doula availability, all are dedicated to helping you. Our intention is to meet your needs as you care, honor, and remember your loved one, and start your life without them in a healthy way.

We look forward to 110 more years!
