During the holidays, it is important to take special care of yourself.  Common recommendations include:

  • Plan ahead – Have a Plan A and a Plan B and know that it is even ok if you choose Plan C.
  • Keep it simple – Try to sort out what matters most and put your energies there.
  • Lower your expectations – Understand that your holiday experience will be different this time.
  • Honor your loved one – Find meaningful ways to honor your loved one.
  • Get support – Grief is a journey you don’t want to do alone, including during the holidays.
