Now that you have an understanding of the ABS skills, I invite you to practice them.  When you catch yourself with a dark emotion, such as grief, fear or despair...
 

  • Attend to it
  • Befriend it
  • Surrender to it 


These emotions have a purpose and things to teach you if you let them.  This could be a new way for you to be in the world so be kind to yourself. 

Also know, that if this feels overwhelming or you get stuck in these emotions, please seek professional help.  If you’re afraid for your life or someone else’s, always seek help immediately
