As you seek inside-out healing through your loss of a loved one and/or your losses in the pandemic, one of the first things you can do is take care of yourself. Drink lots of water, go outside if you are able, move your body if your medical professionals say you can and get plenty of rest. Grief is a lot of work and takes much of your energy; it is exhausting. Healthy practices allow your body to do what it knows how to do and heal. I’ve been saddened by the number of people I’ve heard say they’re upset with themselves that they haven’t been more productive during their shelter-in-place time – I don’t know how that expectation became popular. Recognize that you’re grieving and take care of yourself. That will go a long way in helping you both remain healthy and be a part of inside-out healing.
