So far this month we’ve been defining spiritual decision making. Now let’s discover how you make spiritual decisions. For this topic, I often refer to the book Decision Making and Spiritual Discernment: The Sacred Art of Finding Your Way. In it author Nancy Bieber describes the three strands of spiritual decision making – willingness, attentiveness and responsiveness. Willingness is about saying “yes,” letting go of our tight control and opening ourselves to our hidden wholeness. Attentiveness is about paying attention to what is true and real for us and our life situation in the light of our hidden wholeness. And responsiveness is about responding to that which we’ve been paying attention. This decision making process is a way to integrate our heads, our hearts and our bodies.
Butterflies Know
Can a butterfly see when its wings are complete?
Do they have a mirror inside their cocoons?
I think not!
They have an inner wisdom that says…NOW.
Butterflies know when it is time to fly, so do you.
Trust your wings.
