All change involves some kind of loss, right?  Let’s start at the very beginning and look at birth.  Birth involves loss – babies lose a quiet comfortable environment where they’re continually fed with nourishment, supplied with oxygen and kept at a comfortable temperature.  Birth changes all of that.  And from that moment on, our lives are a continual pattern of birth, loss, birth, loss, etc.  How we deal with the small losses can help us prepare for the bigger ones.

“When we intentionally enter into our everyday walk through small losses, understanding their layers and how often we experience them, the terrain of larger loss is not completely unknown.”

                                                                  ~Dr. Nancy Copeland-Payton
