Today is Martin Luther King Day. What an appropriate day to think about our theme “Pieces of Me” – King was brilliant at integrating the different pieces of himself into a wholeness that made our world a better place. As a minister, civil rights activist and family man, he changed the trajectory of racism in our country. Much work still has to be done and King’s example invites us all to take the pieces of ourselves and peacefully create a society that is socially just. Listen to his words: “If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
