Obituary of Alice Marie McCrea

Alice Marie McCrea, 87, of State College, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College. Born on January 27, 1928, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Anthony and Agnes Dempsey Stevens. On January 23, 1954, she married Jerome W. McCrea who survives. Also surviving are five children, Mark T. McCrea of Boalsburg, Thomas J. McCrea of Zion, Paul J. McCrea of Sweet Valley, James P. McCrea and his wife, Dawn, of York and Karen A. McCrea and her husband, Mike Dorfi, of Pleasant Gap; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a 1946 graduate of Holy Rosary High School in Scranton. Alice worked at the Globe Store in her early years as an accountant, then became a home maker. Alice was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church for over 50 years. She was an accomplished tap dancer, enjoyed ice skating and loved all pets. Visitation will be 1 until 3 p.m., on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, with the Reverend Val Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
