Obituary of Robert Edward Campolongo

Robert Edward Campolongo, 82, of State College, died Monday, October 19, 2015, at his residence. Born May 31, 1933 in Greensburg, he was the son of Pasquale and Rose Cassa Campolongo. He married Dorothy Wingert, on June 25, 1955 in Greensburg, who survives at home. He is survived by five children, Marcia D. Matheson and her husband, Eric, of Downingtown, R. Lawrence Campolongo and his wife, Patricia, of State College, Mark E. Campolongo and his wife, Janet, of Tyrone, Janice M. Sieg and her husband, Philip, of Short Hills, N.J., John Q. Campolongo and his wife, Dana, of State College and fourteen grandchildren. Robert was a 1951 graduate of Greensburg High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Penn State University in 1955. While at Penn State he became a member of Delta Sigma Phi and served the chapter as an alumnus for 42 years. He was partner of C&W Construction Company and was employed with J. Alvin Hawbaker. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College. He was also a member of State College Elks #1600, State College Lions Club and State College Quarter Back Club. He attended Penn State Football games regularly since college. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory with the Father Val Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
