Obituary of George W. Mullen

George W. Mullen, 88, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Centre Crest, Bellefonte. Born December 17, 1927, in Altoona, he was the son of the late John Charles and Edith Lucille Schoming Mullen. He is survived by three children, John W. Mullen of Millville, V. Diane Collins and her husband, TJ, of State College and Jane E. Hopkins and her husband, John, of Boalsburg; one brother, Robert Joseph Mullen and his wife, Carol, of Sarasota, Florida; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. George was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School. He served in the Army and Navy during World War II where he saw combat in the Pacific Theater. George was a master machinist who owned and operated Mullen Machine and Tool Company. He was of the catholic faith. Services will be private at the convenience of the family, they request no cards or flowers. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Memorial contributions may be made to Centre Crest – Auxiliary, 502 E. Howard St. Bellefonte, PA 16823. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
