David Leschinsky

Obituary of David B. Leschinsky

David Bruce Leschinsky passed away March 20, 2016 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born Aug 27, 1949 in Abington. He was the son of Harvey and Mildred Stein. He is survived by his wife Sara and son Alan Leschinsky from Stormstown, and Aaron Stein of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by his only sibling: Marim Leschinsky. David retired from S&A construction in Jan.2015 where he worked as a draftsman. Before that he was employed by Health South as an orthotics/prosthetics technician. He owned and worked at David's Shoe Clinic from 1979 to 1989.It was here that he repaired souls and helped some. David was a master craftsman. Whatever craft or hobby he got involved with; he became a Master of it. He made beautiful things out of leather and wood. For many years he was a fly fisherman; tying his own flies and even building his own Bamboo Fly rod with his good friend John Kenyon. He loved Traditional Archery and shooting with SASS; which gave him a good reason to dress up as a cowboy, which he loved to do. His latest hobby was Model railroading, where he created miniature trees, a pond and waterfall. He loved playing trains with his only grandchild Carter Stein whom he dearly loved .Friends and family are welcome to come and celebrate David’s life with us at the Unitarian Universalist fellowship on 780 Waupelani Drive at 12:00 noon to 3:00 on Saturday, March 26, 2016. David was a "Foodie” at heart; but had to eat a low sodium, at and sugar free diet his last few years. So please bring a covered dish and join us for some good food in his memory. Contributions can be made to Paws in honor of his love of animals. Arrangements are under the direction of the Koch Funeral Home. Online condolences and signing of the guestbook may be made at www.kochfuneralhome.com
