Obituary of Wendy Morgan Buchart

Wendy Buchart, 77, died on Wednesday, February 15, at the Atrium in State College, Pennsylvania. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Wendy was the daughter of Lester Morgan and Alberta Morgan. She attended McCaskey High School in Lancaster, where she graduated valedictorian, and Penn State University, where she graduated with a degree in economics. There she met John Buchart, whom she married in 1961 and with whom she remained married until his death in 2005. Wendy is survived by her daughter, Laurel Sanders, her husband, Graham, and their children, Erica and Michelle; and her son, Scott Buchart, his wife, Lynn, and their children, Morgan and Cole. Wendy was a longstanding member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hallam, Pennsylvania. She was an active volunteer at the church and also at the Kreutz Creek Valley Library. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening, reading, music, her wonderful friends, and extensive travel, which led to understanding and accepting others. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ at 200 East Market Street in Hallam on Saturday, February 25, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or to Kreutz Creek Valley Library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, Borough of Hallam, PA 17406.
