Obituary of Gelsa Ann Pelick

Gelsa Ann "Dolly" Pelick, 83, of Bellefonte, died Friday, October 13, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. Born June 24, 1934, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Philomenia Colizzo Genovese. On June 12, 1954, she married Nicholas Pelick, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Daria L. Pelick and her husband, Robert H. "Rudy" Rudlloff, of Bellefonte and Pamela Roy of Purcelville, VA; one sister, Judy Checehele of Cummings, GA; two grandchildren, Nicholas Pelick-Rudlloff and Rebecca Roy; special friend, Karen Collins "KC" Sheeler, who was like a daughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Hydeck. In 1954 She graduated from Wyoming Valley Hospital-School of Nursing in Wilkes Barre, Pa and furthered her education at Penn State, Lock Haven and Bloomsburg Universities. Dolly was employed as a Registered Nurse in hospitals, Industrial Nursing in Washington D. C. and later she became a school nurse in the State College school district. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist - Roman Catholic Church, Bellefonte. Dolly enjoyed cooking, Penn State sports and vacations to the beach. She adored her grandson, Nicholas. She was also an advocate of higher education. Memorial service will be a private mass at St. John The Evangelist - Roman Catholic Church, 134 Bishop Street, Bellefonte, with the Father George I. Jakopac officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
