Obituary of William C. Schaeffer

William C. Schaeffer, 70, of Bellefonte, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born November 24, 1947, in Bellefonte, he was the son of Paul N. and Christine Morrison Schaeffer. On July 12, 1968, in State College, William married Elaine A. Woolverton. In addition to his wife, Elaine, William is survived by two children, Nanette M. Witman and her husband, Mark, of Etters, and Courtney B. Schaeffer and her partner, Bryan Shambaugh, of Carlisle; granddaughter, Natalie Shambaugh; sister, Virginia Houser and husband, William, of Bellefonte. William was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Brandon Bechdel. William graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1966. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as millwright for Graymont Limestone. William enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting. He attended Grace Lutheran Church, State College. In accordance to William's wishes, there will be no services.
