Paul Alexander Mark, 75, a resident of Port Matilda, died Friday, June 22, 2018 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born January 25, 1943 in Bellefonte, PA the son of the late Philip A. and Edna G. (Crust) Mark. On April 4, 1981 in State College, he married the former Carol L. Smith, who survives at home.

Paul is also survived by two daughters, Sunni Mark Lindenmuth and husband, Chris, of Cape Coral, FL and Jessi P. Mark Barr and husband, Justin L., of Port Matilda; one son, Matthew A. Mark and wife, Tara D., of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Patricia J. Hess of State College and Cathy A. DePalma and husband, Nicholas, of State College; four grandchildren, Alexis, Josh, Kadence and Taelon. Additionally, he was excited to learn about the upcoming birth of his third grandson, Hudson Alexander Mark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John “Herbie” H. Mark and Philip “Danny” D. Mark; and son, Kristian L. Mark.

Paul was a 1961 graduate of State College High School. He was employed and retired from Weis Markets after 33 years of service. After a short time working as a janitor for the State College School District, he became the building manager for the Assembly of God Church in State College.

In Paul’s early years, he was an avid photographer, contributing to his high school yearbook. He was also very creative as an artist and loved to do illustrations. In his teens, he taught himself to play guitar and performed with various bands in the Centre County area. His core band, the Misfits spanned a couple of decades when Paul resurrected the group in the late 1970’s. Music was one of his passions and brought him great joy throughout his life. Paul was also a car buff and had a keen eye for their originality. He loved camping with family and friends, and enjoyed sharing his love of music around the campfire. His love and passion for all these things are his legacy, as a gift to his family, to pass down for generations to come.

Family and friends will be received at Koch Funeral Home, 2401  S. Atherton St., State College, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 6 pm until 8 pm, for a Remembrance & Celebration of Paul’s life.
