Obituary of Kathleen May Knowles

Kathleen May Knowles, 67, of State College, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born March 15, 1951, in Green Brook, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and May Perrotta Koncur.

She is survived by a son, Ryan Joseph Knowles and his wife, Kristin, of State College; three granddaughters, Fiona, Caitlin, and Lauren Knowles, and a brother, Joseph Koncur and his wife, Noreen, of Monmouth Junction, NJ.

Kathleen was a graduate of Dunellen High School in New Jersey. She received a Bachelor's degree in Education from East Stroudsburg University in 1973, where she was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority.

Kathleen spent several years teaching before staying home to raise her son. She then went on to real estate and medical billing positions in her career. She ended her working life by doing what she loved the most, caring for children as a nanny.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, traveling and loved a good day at the beach.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 22nd at 11:00am, at Grace Lutheran Church, 205 S Garner St, State College, with visitation time starting at 10:00am.
