Obituary of Carolyn T. Yarnell

Carolyn T. Yarnell, 85, of State College, died Friday, February 8, 2019, at Wynwood House State College. Born May 27, 1933, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Lynn and Martha Knepp Tressler. On June 19, 1954, she married Harry Yarnell, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Michael D. Yarnell and his wife, Mary Ann, of State College; one brother, Edward Tressler and his wife, Beverly, of Bellefonte; one granddaughter, Michelle Yarnell; three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Charlie and Joey Lombardi; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Tressler.

Carolyn was a 1951 graduate of State College High School.

She was a Bookkeeper, managing three cafeterias for the State College Area School District Food Service Department. Prior to that she was employed at the Bursar's Office at Penn State University.

Carolyn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she also participated in the Esther Circle. She was also a member of Centre County RSVP and Mount Nittany Medical Center Volunteer Services. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. An additional visitation will be from 9 until 10 a.m., on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church, 205 South Garner Street, State College. Funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Scott Schul officiating.

Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
