Obituary of Joel Samuel Kunkel

Joel Samuel Kunkel, 82, of McAlisterville, died Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Wynwood House.

Born July 30, 1938, in Sunbury, he was the son of the late Joel and Lera Conrad Kunkel.

He is survived by two children, Joel Kunkel, Jr. and his wife Christine of Saxonburg, and Jana Rohrbach of State College; his companion Lorene Horning, one sister, Joan Mertz and her husband Boyd of Northumberland; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Joel was preceded in death by two siblings, Bernie Kunkel and Julia Cary.

Joel graduated from Sunbury High School in 1956. He also served in the United States Army. He was a computer programmer. He was a member of the Richfield United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Pomfret Manor Cemetery.
