Obituary of Mark Allen Wenger

Mark Wenger, 74, of State College, PA passed away at his home. He is survived by his wife Ruth of State College, son Craig, daughter-in-law Elisabeth and grandson Henry, all of Chicago. Mark graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Science degree and worked for GD Searle & Co. in Skokie, IL for many years as a chemist. Living in the Chicago area for over 40 years, he furthered his education with an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago. He earned his CPA and CFP designations and started his financial services firm, Wenger Financial Group in Palatine, IL. He also served as president of the Illinois Financial Planning Association. He was very close to his many clients and treated them as family. Mark loved his post-war Lionel trains and spent many hours wiring layouts and running his setup. He also enjoyed electronic games, music, travel and, especially, spending time with his family. Internment was in Centre Memorial Park, State College, with Rabbi David Ostrich officiating.
