Obituary of Helen Solt

Helen Elmira Tate Solt, 90 years young. Died in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania on December 7, 2020. Helen was born in Pleasant Gap on October 5, 1930 to the parents of Merritte Franklin Tate and Cora June Noll Tate, one sister, Dorothy Jean Tate and one brother, William Franklin Tate who all preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Michael W. (Melissa) Solt, Pleasant Gap; a daughter, Susan E. Daughenbaugh, Pleasant Gap; four grandchildren, Heather N. (Scott) Daughenbaugh Fravel, Bellefonte, PA; Summer J. (Mark Bucci) Daughenbaugh, Allison Park, PA; Gregory J. (Sharon Smith) Daughenbaugh II, Buena Vista, CO, Tyger L. Daughenbaugh who preceded her in death. Two great grandsons, Jason S. and Derek W. Fravel of Bellefonte, PA. Two step grandchildren, Erin (Anson) Ko, Henderson, NV and Travis Stalman, Monroe, LA. Two step great grandchildren Hayden and Mia Stalman, Elizabethtown, PA. A niece, Vonnie Tate, Hollywood, FL.

She was a graduate of Bellefonte High School, class of 1948. A graduate of Altoona School of Commerce, Altoona, PA, class of 1949. She worked at Farmers National Bank, Bellefonte, PA, 1950-1952; Treasurer of the Pleasant Gap Methodist Church, 1954-1958; People's National Bank, Bellefonte, PA, 1960-1961; Bellefonte Lanes, Bellefonte, PA, 1961-1963; Penn State University, University Park, 1963 until retirement in June of 1988.

She was a member of the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, Pleasant Gap, PA; a lifetime member of The American Legion, Auxiliary Post 0867; National Grange #109, Pleasant Gap, PA; Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees.

Helen will be greatly missed by her family and friends but leaves behind a lifetime of stories and memories. Her love for yellow roses, bingo, playing cards, German Shepherd's & deviled eggs will always be happy reminders of Helen.

Funerals services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
