Obituary of Greta Benton O'Toole

Greta Benton O'Toole, 84, of State College, PA passed away peacefully December 7. Born July 19, 1936 in Webster, Florida, the youngest of 5 daughters of Euverla Mae Ellis & Thomas Martin Rogers. Greta described her growing up on the family farm as the best of all possible childhoods.

She graduated from Webster High School & attended Lee College, before beginning a career in administration. Greta retired from Penn State University Institute of Policy Research as Coordinator of Research and Administrative Services in 2000.

Greta's husband Lawrence E. O'Toole preceded her in death in 1986. They'd made their home in State College since 1972.

She is survived by their son Michael O'Toole (Megan) of Apex NC & 3 stepdaughters whom she loved as her own, Grace Musser, (Marshall) of Huntsville, Al, Anne Kapinus (Ed) of Centre Hall, Pa & Maureen Miller (Mike) of Cordova, Md. She also leaves 6 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild who were the lights of her life.

Greta was an avid Penn State football fan & supporter of all the cultural events State College offered.

She will be missed most dearly by all who loved her tremendous spirit, humor, strength and wisdom.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Spring Creek Cemetery with Pastor Debra Dailey officiating.
