Obituary of Robert E. Fry

Robert E. "Bob" Fry, 76, of State College, died Friday, March 5, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 20, 1944, in Bellefonte, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Iola Lightner Fry.

He is survived by his partner of 52 years, Rosella F. Fetterolf. He is also survived by six children, Carol Helt and her husband, Russ, of Enola, Dean Fetterolf and his wife, Terre, of Millheim, Debra Cray and her husband, Dean, of Hershey, Dan Fetterolf and his wife, Tammy, of Bellefonte, Ellen Cable of State College, Mark John Fetterolf and his wife, Gretchen, of State College; one sister, Shirley Heidrich of State College; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; five nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Fry.

Bob was a 1962 graduate of State College High School. He served in the United States Army Reserves.

Following retirement as a police officer for Penn State University Police Services, he worked as a security guard at the Palmer Museum of Art.

Bob was a member of the Alpha Fire Company.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 19, 2021, at Pine Grove Mills Cemetery on South Nixon Road, with the Reverend Lori Speffensen officiating.
