D. Mark DonTigny, 58, of State College, died Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at home, surrounded by his family, after a brave battle with cancer.
Born November 30, 1962, in Missoula, MT, he was the son of David R. and Lorna N. Kaiser DonTigny, who survive. On August 5, 2017 he married Sheri L. Rothermel, who also survives.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mark is survived by two siblings, Steve T. DonTigny and his wife, Terry, of Falls Church, VA, and Mary Beth Hoffman and her husband, Mark, of Boalsburg. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Nieces Helen Grace, Emilie, and Nephews Ben and Shannon also supported him throughout his fight. He was preceded in death by his beloved Bulldog, Boogie.
Mark grew up in State College, and graduated from State College High School in 1981. He obtained his Bachelors degree from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Sustainable Architecture. He worked as an Architectural Designer for S&A Homes.
Mark was passionate about cycling, both competitively and as a hobby. He also enjoyed remodeling as a hobby, redesigning his home for him and his wife to enjoy. He was also an animal lover and cared for many cats and dogs that he considered family.
A private memorial service will be held for Mark at a later date.
