Obituary of Thomas Robert Frank

Thomas Robert Frank, 75, of State College, died Saturday, August 28, 2021, at home, surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer.

Born April 5, 1946, in Altoona, he was the son of the late John and Eva Horell Frank. On November 8, 1969 he married the love of his life, Anita L. Cataldo, who survives.

He was a wonderful and loving father to three children, Thomas R. Frank Jr. and his wife, Terri, of Davidsonville, MD, Michele L. Frank and her husband, Kerry Pulaski, of Oxford, OH, Jennifer J. Roan and her husband, Scott Stevens, of State College; two sisters, Marge Frantz of Mechanicsburg and Jane Steinburgl of Altoona; six grandchildren, Greyson, Maysi and Harper Frank, Connor Pulaski, Calvin and Morgan Roan; eight step-grandchildren, Carly, Chloe, Mason, Brendan, Megan, Maddie, Matt and Ryan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, John, Walter, Eleanor, William and Vince.

He was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. Tom attended Mansfield University. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2005 after 36 years as a Mail Carrier.

Tom's favorite pastime was attending his grandchildren's games, concerts, and special events where he always had a kind word or funny story for everyone whose path he crossed.

Tom was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Nittany Lion Club and the Penn State Hoops Club. He served as a board member for State College Federal Savings and coached little league baseball and basketball.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m., on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College.

Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
