Obituary of Harry Brotzman

Harry Brotzman, Jr., age 85, died in his home on Monday, October 4, 2021. He was born on March 7, 1936, in Scottsbluff, NE, to parents Harry and Mollie Schmidt Brotzman. Harry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Brotzman of State College, PA; his son, Randall Brotzman (Laureen) of Mitchell, NE; and his daughter, Dorinda Romine (Lee) of Sante Fe, NM. Other survivors include his grandchildren Cassandra and Kendra Brotzman, Hannah Horr (Cody), Holly Romine, brothers and sisters: Norman Brotzman (Betty), Doris Snider (Dave), Oneitha Hardwick (Allen, deceased), and Timothy Brotzman (Barbara). He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord as a young child and started preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ at 16 years old. He graduated from C.K. Mcklatchey High School in Sacramento, CA, in 1954. Harry attended Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz, CA, Lakewood Park Bible Institute in Devil's Lake, ND, and Central Bible Institute in Springfield, MO. Harry entered full-time ministry as a pastor in Bellwood, PA. He also pastored other churches across the U.S. and more recently served on pastoral staff at State College Assembly of God until his retirement in 2016. His ministry years included serving congregations made up partly of Navy and Air Force personnel. In addition, because of his skills in sign language, he pastored two deaf congregations. He held a position as National Coordinator of Deaf and Blind Ministries for the Assemblies of God Headquarters in Springfield, MO. He received his ordination with the Assemblies of God in 1963. Harry's hobbies included digital photography, making old barn wood frames and clocks, professional yo-yo's, saw-handled canes, necklaces and ear rings, writing poetry, blogging, freelance writing and other interests. The visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 10-12 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church, 2201 University Dr, State College, PA. The Funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with the Reverend Paul Waldecker officiating. Burial will be at Blair Memorial Park in Altoona, PA. Harry enjoyed children very much and entertained them often. He was known as a loving family man to his own family and others.
