The Last Valentine

Nature has a rhythm. Nature has a flow.

You cannot stop the sun from setting.

You can only cherish it when it's with you.

I wish I could've told you that I didn't need you to be perfect.

I wish you could've seen how much happiness we might have shared.

I never wanted all the answers, just your light to guide me on my way.

And now the world is steeped in darkness and yet I am not worried.

I light my torch and take my place. The time is right, the time is now.

You trained me as a warrior, but I am laying down my sword.

You taught me to be wary, but I will find a way to trust.

Our life was clutched by fear, but in it's place there shall be love.

From your ashes I will rise and from your wishes I will bloom.

Thank you for your humor, thank you for your tenderness.

Thank you for your tears and thank you for your smiles.

But most of all, thank you for your unfaltering devotion.

And now, it's time to rest. No need to save the world.

No goal left to chase. No point left to prove.

In emptiness there can be comfort and in sadness - hope.

Goodbye, don't stay too long.

There's a new world waiting for you.

I will miss you, but I must learn to let go.

Nature has a rhythm. Nature has a flow.

You cannot stop the sun from setting.

You can only hope to see it rise once more.

Bon Voyage, mon cher Papa.

Till we meet again.
