Obituary of Jacquelin J. Fritton

Jacquelin J. "Jackie" Fritton, 82, of State College, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born May 30, 1940, in Waterloo, IA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sidney and Velma Mae Minor Murray. On December 27, 1965 she married Daniel D. Fritton, who survives.

Also surviving are seven children, Scott Fritton and his wife, Theresa, of Rochester, MN, Gregory Fritton and his wife, Angela, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Sister Celine of the Eucharist, O.C.D. of Loretto, PA, Suzanne Kirk and her husband, Daniel, of Westfield, IN, Timothy Fritton and his wife, Christine, of State College, PA, Catherine Middleton and her husband, Daniel, of Brooklet, GA, Ann Fritton of Frederick, MD; two siblings, Charles Eugene Murray and his wife, Judy, of Waverly, IA, Linda M. Juhl of Cedar Falls, IA; sixteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Scott Murray.

Jackie was a 1958 graduate of Finchford High School in Finchford, IA. In 1962 she received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and in 1965 she earned a Master's degree in Education and Counseling, all from Iowa State University.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Centre Pieces Quilt Guild, Daughters of the American Revolution, and The Third Order Secular Carmelites.

Jackie enjoyed quilting, rosary making, and genealogy. She also loved watching Penn State sports and the New York Yankees (when they win).

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.

Funeral mass will be at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with Father George Jakopac officiating.

Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
