Obituary of Robert F. Deans

Robert F. Deans (1944–2022)

Robert (Bob) F. Deans, Jr. passed away at his home in Boalsburg, PA on July 1, 2022. He died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on October 15, 1944 in Glen Cove, NY and raised among the cranberry bogs and beaches of Wareham, MA. He was the son of Robert F. Deans and Catherine P. Deans. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger sister Mary. He was the eldest brother to Kay Deans-Richard and David Deans. He was a loving husband to Libby for more than 50 years. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his two children, Andrew and Kate, their spouses, Heather and Bill, and two loving grandchildren, Vivian and Hugo and three wonderful step grandchildren Colton, Caelen, and Christa.

Bob obtained his BS degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Northeastern University. He spent the majority of his career as a CPA, for several federal agencies, including the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the National Park Service, and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, before retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Elks Club in State College, PA. In his free time, Bob enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, playing bridge, and eating ice cream.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, on July 25, 2022 at Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church, 150 W. Pine Grove Rd., Pine Grove Mills, PA. Later, at 5:00 PM on July 25, 2022 at 216 Plymouth Circle, Boalsburg, PA, we will be hosting a celebration of Bob's Life. All are welcome.
