Obituary of Lloyd H. Heckendorn

Lloyd H. "Skip" Heckendorn, Jr., 81, of State College, died July 30, 2022 at Centre Care.

Born March 13, 1941, in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Lloyd H. and Velma Hanna Heckendorn.

He is survived by two children, Mark Stephen Heckendorn and his wife Laura of Silver Spring, MD, and Lori Dee Conner and her husband Michael of Phoenixville; two siblings, John G. Heckendorn and his wife Diane of State College, and New Smyrma Beach, FL, and Susan J. Heckendorn of Boalsburg; and four grandchildren, Samuel and John Connor, and Ryan and Ethan Heckendorn. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Deanne. He was previously married to Susan Tromanhauser Heckendorn.

Skip graduated from State College High School in 1959, lettering in basketball and tennis. He earned his bachelor's degree in dairy science from Penn State University in 1963. He worked as a distribution manager for the dairy industry in Philadelphia and Allentown.

After retirement he was employed by Brookline Homecare Hospice as a companion to the elderly.

He enjoyed watching all sports especially Penn State and loved reading.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
