Obituary of Milton H. Kober

Milton Kober, 70, of State College, passed away peacefully at his home on August fifth. He was the owner and operator of American Carpet Plus, formally known as the Furniture Exchange, in State College, and previously owned five Mattress Worlds, two in State College and three in surrounding communities.

He is survived by his niece, Sharon Ferguson of New Hampshire; his cousins Marilyn and Jon Jones, and their daughters, Heather Herncane and Manda Benedict, all of State College, Vicki Spilko of Florida, Merrill Levine also of Florida, David Schaitkin of Lock Haven and Mark Schaitkin of Connecticut; his dear friends Jon Okonski of Bellefonte, Roger Hunter and Rob Hamp of Tyrone, and Curt Rudy of Bellefonte. His wife Sharon preceded him in death.

He also leaves behind his precious dogs, Stella and Stanley, whom he adored.

Milton was a graduate of Lock Haven University, where he met his wife Sharon.

He was a smart businessman, but more importantly, a good employer and kind and loving person. His part time employees usually stayed throughout their college careers, and his full time employees, throughout their working years. It was very important to Milton that they received full benefits and were treated with respect.

Milton had a great sense of humor. He loved to barbeque and have friends to his house to enjoy music and conversation. He was generous and kind to everyone, and good to his family. He enjoyed golfing and watching newsy television shows. He was well versed in politics and enjoyed discussing the state of the world.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
