Obituary of Lois Lavern Creighton

Lois Lavern Creighton, 98, resident of the Wynwood House, Boalsburg, died on October 30, 2022 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born July 19, 1924 in Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Charles V. Hershberger and Freda Bookhammer. On May 4, 1948 she married Samuel D. Creighton who preceded her in death on September 28, 1984.

She is survived by three children, Lisa A. Homan and her husband, Chad, of Boalsburg, Charles D. Creighton of Boalsburg and Vicki J. Creighton of Centre Hall; four grandchildren, Kerri Glunt and her husband, Tim, Amanda Heverly and her husband, Jacob, Kenna Creighton and Sam Creighton; four great- grandchildren, Kevin Jodon, Annalise Glunt, Noah Heverly and Sydney Heverly; one great-great grandchild, Grayson Jodon. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lou Simon.

Lois attended Bedford High School.

To know Lois, was to love her. She was an avid bowler up until the age of 90. Lois was an active member at the Saint John's United Church of Christ in Boalsburg for many years where she also sang in the choir. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Boalsburg Fire company. She was an avid PSU football fan, and loved watching football in general. She loved her long walks around Boalsburg up into her 80s. She was a spitfire and loved to laugh. She was the best mother, grandmother, and friend anyone could ask for.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
