Obituary of Hilda Long

Hilda Louvinia Long, 100 years old, of Pine Grove Mills, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born May 16, 1911, in Port Matilda, she was the only child of the late Elmer R. and Goldie C. Jones Long. Hilda was a 1931 graduate of State College Area High School and was employed for many years by Penn State University as a mail clerk. Hilda greatly enjoyed planting her flower and vegetable gardens and shared her 100th Easter with family and friends. Hilda is survived by her cousin Shirley Kline Gilligan of State College and extended family. She attended the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Grove Mills. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Pine Grove Mills Cemetery with the Rev. Kelley Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Mills Cemetery.
