Obituary of Mini Bhardwaj

Mini Snigdha Bhardwaj, age 62, died September 15, 2012, at her residence in State College. Born November 11, 1949, in Dharamsala India, she was the daughter of the late Mohan Lal Sharma and Satya Kanagat. In 1960, at the age of 11, she immigrated with her parents to Columbus, Ohio, and the family moved to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania in 1965. Mini was the salutatorian of her high school and received the Sparks medal for outstanding scholarship from Penn State University, where she received a BA and MA, both in French Linguistics. On August 26, 1972, she married Mahesh Bhardwaj. Together, they founded The Ultran Group, Inc., an advanced ultrasonic technology company, and she later served as its President. Mini was dearly loved by her family and is survived by her husband and two children, Neeraj Bhardwaj and his wife, Stacy Milman of San Francisco, CA and Anuj Bhardwaj, and his wife, Avni Trivedi of Cambridge, MA. Mini has one grandchild, Aanya Satya Bhardwaj (Anuj and Avni) and one sister, Anu Sharma and her husband Roger Svendsen of Saint Paul, MN. Mini was known for her intelligence, wit, generosity, humor, and love of family. She had an abiding love of nature and the arts. Her smile and laugh will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 22nd at the State College Friends School located at 1900 University Drive, State College, PA 16801.
