Obituary of Robert Hall

Robert Lee Hall, MD, 85, of State College, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his residence. He was born on April 30, 1927, in Philipsburg and grew up in Snow Shoe, the son of the late George B. and Emily Lee Hall. On August 29, 1954 he married Jacqueline Peters, who survives. He is also survived by three children, Deborah Lee Hall of State College, Robert M. Hall MD and his wife Jane of Boalsburg, Michael L. Hall and his wife Judy of State College; six grandchildren, Tyler , Wesley , Connor , Phillip , Michael , and Emily Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Cleo Walstrom. He was a 1944 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. He was drafted into the army and became a Tech Fourth Grade company "F" Adjutant General's School. After being discharged, he graduated from The University of Pittsburgh and then graduated in 1953 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Geisinger Medical Center and fellowship in cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He practiced in State College for 49 Years. He was Chief of Staff from 1973 to 1975 of Centre Community Hospital now Mount Nittany Hospital. He retired in 2006. He was also the Medical Director of In-Home Care Services. He was a member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, a member of the Royal Order of the Jesters, Altoona Shrine, Spruce Creek Rod and Gun Club, The Elks Club BPOE 1600 and Tall Cedars. Some of his favorite times were with his family at the Moores Run Hunting Camp. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Mount Nittany Medical Center Foundation, 1800 E. Park Ave., State College, PA 16803.
