Obituary of Paul Corl

Paul M. Corl, 94, of State College, passed away October 22, 2012 at The Fairways at Brookline Village, State College. Paul was born April 13, 1918 in State College, the son of the late James Madison and Mary Alice Hoy Corl. On August 21, 1940 he married Marie Gingrich, who preceded him in death on March 27, 2001. He is survived by one son, James P.Corl and his wife Dail of State College, one daughter-in-law, Teddy Corl o f State College, five grandchildren, Miranda Corl of New York, NY., Nathaniel Corl of Fairfax County, VA., Ron Corl and his wife Wendy of State College, Ken Corl of Boalsburg, Rob of Pensacola, FL., and one great grandchild, Roman Corl of State College. He was predeceased by one son, Thomas Corl in 1983. Paul was a 1938 graduate of State College High School. He was a farmer and employed as a truck driver for Shoemaker Brother's, W.R. Hickey Beer Distributor and Center Carriers. He was a member of the Pine Hall Lutheran Church where he served on the cemetery committee; he was very involved in the church. He was also a member of the Ferguson Township Lions Club. Up until his last days, he would often talk about his beautiful wife, his truck driving stories and his dog, Mack. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2012 at Pine Hall Lutheran Church, 1760 West College Avenue, State College, with the Reverend Susan Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery. Following the burial, the family invites you to join them for a luncheon at the church.
