Obituary of Deborah Brooks

Deborah A. Brooks, 51, of State College, went to be with the Lord on Monday February 14, 2011, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Debbie was born September 3, 1959, in Meadville. She was a daughter of George A. and Beverly J. Knauff Morgan of State College. On June 14, 1980, she married Gregg A. Brooks, who survives at home. She was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by two daughters, Rachel M. Garmon and her husband, Joshua, of Pleasant Gap, and Renee E. Brooks of Canal Winchester, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kylan Paige and Josiah Garmon; and two sisters, Linda D. Rice and her husband, Steven, of Swansee, Ill., and Kimberly D. Gephart and her husband, Martin, of Harleysville. Debbie was a 1977 graduate of State College Area High School. She worked as a Security Deputy for Penn State's Applied Research Lab for 25 years. Debbie was a very loving and compassionate woman. She was a committed Christian and attended World Harvest Church, under the leadership of Pastor Rod Parsley. Debbie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, riding motorcycles with her husband and playing with her grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 18, at the funeral home with Rev. Harold McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery. Contributions in Debbie's memory may be made to Bridge of Hope/Sudan Relief Effort, P.O. Box 100, Columbus, OH 43216.
