Obituary of Jr. Blanarik

Edward S. Blanarik, Jr., 64, of State College, died suddenly Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at his residence. Born December 8, 1948, in Ambridge, he was the son of the late Edward S. Blanarik, Sr. and Helen Baysura Blanarik, who survives in Beaver Falls. On June 30, 1989, he married Deborah Lux, who survives at home. Also surviving are two daughters, Alexandra and Jessica Lux Blanarik, of State College; two brothers, James and his wife, Kathy, of Monaca, PA and David and his wife, Diane, of Leesburg, VA. He was a 1966 graduate of Ambridge High School. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1970. He graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree from the Cleveland State University Law School and was admitted to the PA Bar and the Centre County Bar. Ed was an attorney with his own private practice, Edward S. Blanarik, Jr. Law Offices. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he served on the Church Council and as an usher. Edward was Vice President of the Centre County Bar Association and a member of the Pennsylvania Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He was proud of his daughters and their on and off stage accomplishments. Ed enjoyed long walks with his beagle, Cassie. He also enjoyed gardening, Penn State Football and the Pittsburgh professional sports teams. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 205 South Garner Street, State College, with the Rev. P. Stevens Lynn officiating.
