Obituary of John "Jack" McTaggart

John "Jack" McTaggart, 82, of State College, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Fairways, State College, Born on March 29, 1930, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late William C. and Henrietta D. McTaggart. On February 13, 1965 he married Geraldine "Gerrie" Jenior, who survives. He is also survived by four children, John W. and his wife, Kris, of Atlanta, Georgia, Patricia A. Schwendeman and her husband, Dr. Les, of Boardman, Ohio, James M. and his wife, Dawn, of Burleson, Texas, Susan Marie Wilson and her husband, Matthew, of State College and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his older brother James W. McTaggart in 1996. Jack graduated with a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Kent State University in 1953. He was a first lieutenant in the Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1993, after 40 years as an auditor for the Defense Contract Audit Agency. Jack was a member of Our Lady of Victory. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2013, at Our Lady of Victory, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, with the Reverend David Lockard officiating. Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Home Nursing Agency, hospice care, 201 Chestnut Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
